Overview

The flag of Oakville

Oakville is a town in Arboria on the Survival Server map. The town was created by player Raelon225, and construction started on Wednesday the 21st of December 2021. The town has since been connected by rail eastward to Acacia Park and has an ice road going west to Whitewood, which is connected to Spawn via the Great North Road.

To warp to the town, you can get to it with warp Oakport (this warp is temporary due to construction on the current warp oakville)

The idea

The plan for the connection between Acacia Park and Whitewood

When the two players Shield543 and RealDeadlyOne had plans to connect the towns of Whitewood and Acacia Park, Timeno123 brought up the idea of a connecting town in-between to act as a link between the railway from Acacia Park and the ice boat metro from Whitewood.

The bay where oakville was to be built, (SS sent by Shield543)

from then on, many plans were formed and it was decided that oakville would be located in a small icy bay along the ice metro line, and be connected to the metro with a railway coming up from underground. it would then be connected to Acacia Park via a long railway, with stops along the way such as Birchmount.

Building Oakville

As shown in the image below, the first foundations of Oakville would be formed on a custom made platform, with stairs down into the station where the railway would go both ways to the connected towns.

The paths would contain stone and dark oak houses, with crops and trees and a small market in the middle.

On the designer server, a schematic was made for where houses and paths would go as well as a new station that would be on top of the terrain.

The port

The port of Oakville started construction on the 10th ‎of September ‎2022. The aim was to create a hub for sailing players who wanted a place to go and look around the busy city, with taverns, inns, shops and cool boats that the players could interact with. A few months later, the port received a new structure, the Oakwind. With its large intimidating sails, and its strong dark oak hull the Oakwind sailed the seas of CFUK, trading precious materials such as stone and wood. The Oakwind became a hand-me-down over several generations of sailors and pirates, and eventually settled in oakville, awaiting its next big adventure.

Since, the Port has had other buildings made, such as the Darkwood Inn, a small and cosy inn for sailors to enjoy a drink at the bar, or to catch up with fellow fools whom they have not seen in many long years. Also, some small buildings on the front near the Oakwind, including a planned Fools corner, a subcompany of fool inc.
